Bank of Hawai‘i signs endorsement deals with 42 local athletes

This type of arrangement was made possible in July 2021, when the NCAA changed its rules and permitted student-athletes to benefit individually from the use of their name, image or likeness. The college athletes will serve as ambassadors to help promote bank programs and to spread goodwill throughout the community.

Construction begins on pedestrian crossing beacons in Kalihi area


Construction started this morning at the intersection of King Street and Richard Lane on the first of three planned pedestrian crossing beacons. Construction runs Monday through Friday until Nov. 10.

UK woman travels 7,000 miles to Hawai‘i to scatter hamster’s ashes


In March, Lisa Murray-Lang’s beloved pet hamster, Spud, died at 3 years and 5 months old. That’s the equivalent of about 138 human years, she says. To mark the hamster’s passing, she brought his ashes to Waikīkī for scattering.
