Cades Schutte is proud to be part of the vibrant Hawai’i community. The Cades Foundation is one of the largest private funders of arts in Hawai‘i, and promotes education, the well-being of children, the arts, and health and human services. When brothers Russell and Milton Cades started The Cades Foundation in 1991 as a separate giving organization, they enhanced Cades Schutte’s already-established commitment to philanthropic partnerships in the community.

In celebration of its centennial and to honor its commitment to serving the community, the firm is doubling down on its pro bono and volunteer activities with the launch of their Hoʻokupu for 100 Initiative. The program will engage attorneys and staff who provide at least 10 hours of volunteer or pro bono service through these activities, by matching their efforts with a $100 gift to the 501(c)(3) organization of the individual’s choice.

In February, Cades Schutte kicked off its centennial year with a beach cleanup sponsored by Sustainable Coastlines. Forty volunteers came together to sift through the sand for microplastics and gather up waste in the naupaka plants along the beach. In March, Cades Schutte attorneys also participated in Legal Lines, a program providing free legal information to the public, and many additional volunteer and pro bono activities are planned for the remainder of the year.

With more than 80 attorneys, over 40 different practice and industry areas, and offices in Honolulu, Kona, Waimea, Kahului, and Līhuʻe, Cades Schutte is a full-service law firm that serves local, national, and international clients. It regularly handles real estate, finance, estate planning, tax, and litigation matters.
