Lawmakers award Hawaii nonprofits nearly $50M

                                The Hawaii Law Enforcement Memorial Fund was one of 177 nonprofits that received grants-in-aid from the state Legislature this year. It was awarded $30,000 to repair damage to the memorial it built a block from the state Capitol in 2016 and to replace landscaping that died because of a failed water connection.
