COVID-19 Cluster at Maui Jail Now Includes 20 Inmates

The Maui Community Correctional Center now has 20 confirmed COVID-19 cases among inmates at the Wailuku facility.

The new total comes as eight positive cases were confirmed today. To date, 436 tests have been conducted, with 413 coming back negative, 20 positive and three were inconclusive.

There are currently 28 people in medical isolation at the facility and 101 individuals in quarantine.

No MCCC staff have reported having COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Safety.
 
COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted statewide at all facilities.

News of the COVID-19 cluster at MCCC was first reported last week.
